First Generation

1.   Henry OVERSTREET Jr. was born 1735 in Great Britain.

Note. Henry Jr. b 1735 Great Britain, was granted 393 acres along the
Great Ogeechee Swamp in St. George's Parish, Burke Co Ga
1764-1766.  Closely associated with a scottish trader, Lachlan
McGillivray whose son Alexander was a half breed, became the
principle chief of the Creek Indians after the Rev War.  the
names McGillivray, McGilvray, McGilberry, Buie, and Bowie are
curtailments of MacIlbowie, derived from the gaelic form
Mac'Illebhuidhe.  the names McGilberry and Bowie appear among O

Henry married (1) Jane BRASWELL, sister of Kindred Braswell, Sr.
They had the following children:

Sarah married (1) Mr. CANMAH.
     +    4    M    iii. Braswell OVERSTREET was born about 1770
and died 1845.

Charity married (1) Mr. MULKEY.
     +    6    M    v.   John OVERSTREET was born about 1774 and
died about 1855.



Second Generation

2.   Daniel OVERSTREET was born about 1760 in of Washington Co,
Georgia. He died about 1810.
Note...granted 150 acres in Washington County, Georgia in 1790.
Daniel married (1) Eleanor "Nellie" ? ( ? ).
Note: She and Daniels minor heirs purchased 40
acres in Montgomery County, Georgia Feb 5 1810.

Daniel and Eleanor had the following children:
          7    M    i.   Jacob OVERSTREET was born about 1784 in
lived, Burke Co. Ga., 1805/07.
          8    M    ii.  Moses OVERSTREET was born in lived,
Burke Co. Ga., 1820/30.
          9    M    iii. William OVERSTREET was born in lived,
Burke Co. Ga., 1820/30.
          10   M    iv.  Daniel OVERSTREET was born in lived,
Emanuel Co., Georgia.



4.   Braswell OVERSTREET was born about 1770 in Georgia(?). He
died 1845 in Wayne County, Mississippi.
Braswell married (1) Sarah Buie(?) BOWIE. Sarah was born about
1779 in Georgia. She died in Wayne County, Mississippi.

 Note:   Sep. 24, 1794, Braswell was a witness to a deed conveying
his dad's property to his bro John of Screven Co Ga. 1798 he was
appointed to jury duty in Montgomer Co Ga. 1803 granted 350 acres
in Montgomery Co. in 1819, with other family members, migrated to
Wayne Co Ms thru Ala. He was on the Wayne Co census records
between 1820 and 1840. He died before 1850 and is buried along
the headwaters of Bogue Homa River.

Braswell and Sarah had the following children:
          11   M    i.   Braswell OVERSTREET was born 24 Dec 1800
in Montgomery Co., Georgia. He died 17 Oct 1882/1889 in Wayne
County, Mississippi and was buried in Overstreet Cem, Wayne
County, Mississippi.

1809 in NC. She died 25 Oct 1877 in Wayne County, Mississippi.

Nancy married (1) Nathaniel CLARK. Nathaniel was born about 1795.
He died about 1840 in Wayne County, Mississippi.

Didn't marry. School teach in Wayne and Greene Co., Ms.
          14   M    iv.  Jacob OVERSTREET was born about 1806 in
Georgia. He died about 1845 in Wayne County, Mississippi.
Jacob married (1) Elizabeth "Eliza" DAVIS(?).
          15   F    v.   Sarah OVERSTREET was born about 1808 in
Georgia.
Sarah married (1) John BLACKLEDGE.
          16        vi.  Elmira OVERSTREET was born about 1810 in
Georgia.
...thought to be the sarah cooper living alone in wayne co ms in
1850.
          17   F    vii. Charity OVERSTREET was born about 1812
in Georgia.
Charity married (1) William(?) MILLS(?). William(?) was born
about 1805 in South Carolina. He in lived, Wayne Co.,
Mississippi.
          18   F    viii.     Phariby OVERSTREET was born about
1815 in Georgia.
Phariby married (1) Mr. RICH.
Phariby also married (2) Thomas B. TAYLOR. Thomas  lived,
Green Co., Mississippi.
          19   M    ix.  Thomas "Squaw Tom" OVERSTREET was born
about 1818.
note...Kids not accounted for but said to have had a family. 
Possible dau was Phariby OVERSTREET, who m James H. Pace in Wayne
Co Ms, March 29, 1881. possible grandson was Gabriel who lived in
Hattiesburg, Ms.
Thomas married (1) Miss SHEDD.
          20   M    x.   James Henry OVERSTREET was born about
1820 in Wayne County, Mississippi.
Note: He served in the War of Northern Aggression. They resided in
Wayne Co Ms.
James married (1) Prudence "Pruda" SHIRLEY.



6.   John OVERSTREET was born about 1774 in Georgia. He died
about 1855 in Clarke County, Mississippi.

Note: Sept 24, 1794 a deed signed by John and Catherine Overstreet for
consideration of 200 pounds, conveys to Stephen Johnson, property
of "tract of land containing 200 acres in Screven Co Ga bounded
on s. by Great Ogeechee River Swamp, e by land of Stephen
Johnson, and w by land of Samuel Scarborough, originally granted
to Henry Oversteet Aug 6 1765". Deed witnessed by Daniel,
Braswell Overstreet., Sarah Canmah, and Charity Mulkey. recorded
in Screven Co Superior Court Book A, Folia (folio) 39. John moved
to Wayne co Ms in 1819 with other family members. (Source F.

James married (1) Frances BLAKELY on 12 Apr 1829. Frances was
born 7 May 1812 in South Carolina. She died 20 Dec 1873 in Texas.
