Descendants of John OVERSTREET

First Generation

1.   John OVERSTREET was born about 1774 in Georgia. He died
about 1855 in Clarke County, Mississippi.  
Son of Henry Overstreet and Jane Braswell.

Note: Sept 24, 1794 a deed signed by John and Catherine Overstreet for
consideration of 200 pounds, conveys to Stephen Johnson, property
of "tract of land containing 200 acres in Screven Co Ga bounded
on s. by Great Ogeechee River Swamp, e by land of Stephen
Johnson, and w by land of Samuel Scarborough, originally granted
to Henry Oversteet Aug 6 1765". Deed witnessed by Daniel,
Braswell Overstreet., Sarah Canmah, and Charity Mulkey. recorded
in Screven Co Superior Court Book A, Folia (folio) 39. John moved
to Wayne co Ms in 1819 with other family members.

John married (1) Catherine Carr.
They had the following children:
     +    2    M    i.   Stephen OVERSTREET was born about 1796.
          3    M    ii.  John OVERSTREET.
     +    4    F    iii. Martha "Patsy" OVERSTREET was born about
1802.
          5    M    iv.  James OVERSTREET was born 15 Feb 1807 in
Georgia. He died 18 Mar 1883 in Freestone County, Texas.
James married (1) Frances BLAKELY on 12 Apr 1829. Frances was
born 7 May 1812 in South Carolina. She died 20 Dec 1873 in Texas.
Note..she was 1/4 Choctaw Indiana
          6    M    v.   Braswell OVERSTREET.
          7    M    vi.  Daniel Madison OVERSTREET was born about
1814 in Georgia. He died in lived, Newton Co., Mississippi.
Daniel married (1) Anzeby LEE.



Second Generation

2.   Stephen OVERSTREET was born about 1796 in Georgia.

Stephen married (1) Zyphilia GOODWIN (?).
They had the following children:
          8    M    i.   Kindred OVERSTREET was born about 1825
in MS.
          9    M    ii.  Stephen OVERSTREET was born about 1821
in Mississippi.

Stephen married (1) Elizabeth J. PATE on 28 Jun 1856 in Clarke
County, Mississippi.
          10   M    iii. Jacob OVERSTREET was born about 1833 in
MS.
          11   M    iv.  William OVERSTREET was born about 1835.
          12   M    v.   John OVERSTREET was born about 1842 in
MS.
          13   F    vi.  ?Keziah OVERSTREET.



4.   Martha "Patsy" OVERSTREET was born about 1802 in Georgia.
Martha married (1) John WEST Dr.. John was born about 1775.
Martha also married (2) Samuel LEE.
They had the following children:
          14   M    i.   Jefferson LEE was born about 1836.
          15   M    ii.  Washington "Billy" LEE was born about
1838.
          16   F    iii. Rebecca LEE was born about 1841.
